5 Secrets To Staying At Home And Making Money On The Internet

A properly designed web site leads your reader to do something. Depending on what that "something" is, determines the form and function of each web page. This article assumes you want your reader to buy a product. Even if you don't have a functioning web page now, or if you have one that needs to improve its sales conversion ratios, this article will give you 5 easy steps that will help you design your web pages and enjoy better performance. This article is a condensed version of a much longer report, that is available for free at my website.

1 - Make use of different colors and text styles. Using only black text and one graphic font will bore your readers. They just won't get excited about with what you're telling them. If they're not excited, they're not buying. By combining bright vibrant colors with various text sizes and font styles you will massively affect your readers. It makes the page easier to read and you can highlight the important information and subtly point the readers eyes to the sales points and the buy now button. Remember most people don't read a web page, they scan it. So make their scanning more effective by making your sales points the most interesting part of the page. Color and style will help you do that.

2 - Create incentives for people to buy. People love a deal and its a fact that on the internet, people expect to get things for free. The key to making a sale on the internet is to provide more value than people expect and give them a reason to buy today. Some marketers offer bonuses for buying today. Other successful marketers provide follow-up offers. There are many ways to create an incentive to buy. The internet is not some other universe, people respond to it the same way they respond to the daily special at a restaurant or a red tag sale at the appliance store. Not everyone buys, but you will have higher conversions if you give people a reason to buy today.

3 - People are inherently mistrustful of buying on the internet. They have heard about scams and may have been a victim of one themselves. You have to gain their trust quickly. One way to to this is to make it easy for them to contact you. Some internet marketers are outsourcing a customer service phone or offering "instant chat" to make their potential customers feel that there is a person on the other end of the web page. Using testimonial from happy customers is also a great way to make your potential customers trust that your product will solve their problem.

4 - Always seem familiar. In other words, on your web page try to use words, colors and phrases that seem like other successful marketers. Look at other big sites and try to mimic them. If you look like Amazon in feel, color and usability, people who are familiar with Amazon will be more comfortable buying from you, even though you're obviously not Amazon. Also use logos that people recognize. For example, give them the option of paying through Paypal or Google Checkout. These things will add credibility to your page and your offer.

5 - Testing, testing, testing is the key to success. There are so many subtle reasons that people buy from one and not another. We'll never understand them all. But we don't have to understand why, we just have to find out what makes people buy what we're offering. So test different background colors: Is orange better than blue? Send half your potential customers to the orange page and the other half to the blue. Does one page convert more sales? Keep it and try another background color like green. Do the same for font color and change the words too. Split test everything, it's the magic formula.
